What if the NFL cancels during the season?

What do we do if the NFL suddenly cancels the season after it starts?

Do we just refund everyone's money and not declare a winner? MyFantasyLeague does not offer refunds. They would apply the payment to the 2021 season.

Should we just assume the team with the best record - with points as a tiebreaker - is the champ for 2020?

We pay $80 for MyFantasyLeague.com. This is their policy on if the NFL doesn't play a full season:
  • If you purchase your MFL league and the NFL cancels the 2020 season completely, then your league payment will be automatically carried over to the 2021 season.
  • If the NFL plays at least 7 weeks of the season (whether it is a continuous 7 weeks or broken up into several periods), then we will consider it to be a full season, and your MFL purchase will be considered as payment for the 2020 fantasy season as usual.
  • If the NFL plays at least 1 week, but less than 7 weeks, then we will consider it to be a partial season, and your league payment will be carried over to the 2021 season.

I would be okay with total points if we got in at least half of a season. Otherwise, let everything roll over to next year, including fees.

Additionally, for further discussion:

Players opting out get an (H) and you can make them IR-able.

Players put on reserve/Covid get an (I) and can also be placed on IR.

Do we want to add any IR spots and make opting out players available to be placed on the IR?

Let's keep this thread on-topic. Talk about the IR issue here https://mtffl.com/smackroom/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2655

I'm fine with going with the MFL rules for the season.

As far as declaring the winner after 7 weeks, I'd like to vote for best record. Total points used as the tie breaker for a tie.

I think following the MFL plan makes sense. If 7+ weeks are played, the team with the best record is declared the champ (points as tiebreaker). No playoffs.

If the season is cancelled or less than 7 weeks are played, our entry fees carry over to next season.
