WOW! That is a LOT of money for anybody, but an injury-prone player makes that very risky.ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Titans and Albert Haynesworth have begun "major" negotiations and both sides are optimistic a long-term contract will be struck before the start of free agency.
Free agency begins in late February. The Titans reportedly haven't ruled out paying $12M annually plus incentives, or Jared Allen money. Haynesworth is a product of Tennessee and Clayton says he'd prefer to stay in Nashville with the team that drafted him. The Titans are currently $31M under the cap.
