the same owners going to the playoffs year in and year out is getting old...

So reducing everyone's roster size will allieviate that? Whatever. I'm sure we would all release our best players, or maybe you will since you want what is best for everyone else. Maybe some of the owners should draft, or manage, or wheel and deal to become better teams. Ever think of that? Releasing the worst two players on my team will not help anyone.
You better get on your knees and pray...Sheffield and Gainesboro are on the way.

I think doing away with IR and maybe one less player wouldnt be so bad, while it is true that top players are not going to be out there it would still put anywhere from 18 to 24 extra players out there.
The best teams will probably always be the best teams not matter how you shape the rules, but it is difficult for a newer owner to go against an established owner because the teams that are taken over usually are not that good.
The biggest thing in my opinion that should be changed is the tournment or toilet bowl stuff.
The Punishers have been the fifth worst team for about two years in a row ( I think) and they have had to pick eighth because they couldnt beat teams in the year end tournament.
This tournamont favors the owner(s) who underacheives outside of the playoffs.
