Draft Day 2006

Summer time means that football season is around the corner!
We need to decide when & where to have the MTFFL Draft Day.

Where:
Many owners have relocated to the Nashville area and have hinted that it would be a better idea to move Draft Day to Nashville. The Gordy's (Will and Michelle) have offered to host both drafts if we can schedule them on the same day. If we can't get everyone on the same day, then MTFFL I draft will be at the Gordy's and the MTFFL II draft will need to be hosted somewhere else.

When:
The first NFL game is the first Thursday after Labor Day - September 7. Many people usually go out of town during Labor Day weekend (September 2 - 4). So traditionally the best time for our draft is the weekend before Labor Day weekend - Saturday, August 26.

Does anyone know anyone who IS NOT returning to the MTFFL I or II?

i vote Nashville, both on the same day at the Gordy's place!!!

i don't know of anyone not returning...

If 2 league is held Nashville, I would need it to be on Sunday.

One player mention to me that we may have two gatherings one in Cookeville and Nashville and try to do it electronically that way.

I may pull a Midget draft day surprise and pick for the first 4 picks and hit the and check out.

live drafts are a tradition of these leagues...
i don't care what day of the week we do it, but i would hate for anyone not to be able to make the draft...
it complicates things and puts more pressure on the owner doing the drafting for the missing owner...
it looks like 6 of the owners in the 2nd league are in Cookeville...

Sorry folks, but there are only five owners who are in Nashville in the I league. That counts David B., even though his lease in Cookeville still might not be up by draft day. Jeff doesn't count. So, that makes 6 other owners in and around Cookeville.

In the II league, 2 owners officially in Nashville. That doesn't count J. Love, who I think is back at Tech this Fall. And it doesn't include Carl. So, adding those 2, only makes 4, do the math folks.

It was mentioned to me that John Flatt could possibly get us the assembly room at Saxony. We could have both drafts there in one Day in Cookeville and Anthony can get drunk and take swimming breaks in the pool.
You better get on your knees and pray...Sheffield and Gainesboro are on the way.

The Saxony room sounds great. Plenty of room and we don't have to worry about trashing someone else's home. Do they have Internet access?
Is Sunday, August 27 better for everyone rather than Saturday? Anyone willing to do it over Labor Day Weekend?
Any Saturday or Sunday works for me.
